چکیده

J/Ψ and ηc above the QCD critical temperature Tc are studied in anisotropic quenched lattice QCD, considering whether the cc̄ systems above Tc are compact quasi-bound states or scattering states. We adopt the standard Wilson gauge action and O(a)-improved Wilson quark action with renormalized anisotropy as/at = 4 at β = 6.10 on 163 × (14−26) lattices, which correspond to the spatial lattice volume V ≡ L3 ≃ (1.55fm)3 and temperatures T ≃ (1.11−2.07)Tc. To clarify whether compact charmonia survive in the deconfinement phase, we investigate spatial boundarycondition dependence of the energy of the cc̄ systems above Tc. In fact, for low-lying cc̄ scattering states, there appears a significant energy difference ∆E ≡ E(APBC)−E(PBC) between periodic and anti-periodic boundary conditions as ∆E ≃ 2 √

Study of constant mode in charmonium correlators at finite temperature

Recent studies on the spectral function of charmonium in lattice QCD suggest survival of J/ψ state in the deconfinement phase till relatively high temperature. Based on the studies, different scenarios of J/ψ suppression are discussed to understand experimental results in the Heavy Ion Collision experiments. The scenarios require the information on the dissociation temperatures of χc and ψ ′ as...

Sequential Charmonium Dissociation

Finite temperature lattice QCD indicates that the charmonium ground state J/ψ can survive in a quark-gluon plasma up to 1.5 T c or more, while the excited states χ c and ψ ′ are dissociated just above T c. We assume that the χ c suffers the same form of suppression as that observed for the ψ ′ in SPS experiments, and that the directly produced J/ψ is unaffected at presently available energy den...

Study of Charmonia near the deconfining transition on an anisotropic lattice with O(a) improved quark action

We study hadron properties near the deconfining transition in the quenched lattice QCD simulation. This paper focuses on the heavy quarkonium states, such as J/ψ meson. In order to treat heavy quarks at T > 0, we adopt the O(a) improved Wilson action on anisotropic lattice. We discuss cc̄ bound state observing the wave function and compare the meson correlators at above and below Tc. Although we...

Charmonium near the deconfining transition on the lattice

Investigation of the QCD phase transition at finite temperature and density is one of most important subjects in particle and nuclear physics. To create the quark gluon plasma phase (QGP), in which quarks and gluons are deconfined and the chiral symmetry is restored, the high energy heavy ion collision experiments have been performed and the RHIC experiment at BNL is in progress. The J/ψ suppre...

For Publisher’s use ANISOTROPIC COLOR SUPERCONDUCTOR

We argue that the QCD matter not far above a critical confinement-deconfinement baryon density and low temperatures can develop spontaneously the condensates of spin-one quark Cooper pairs. Depending upon their color these condensates characterize two distinct anisotropic color-superconducting phases. For them we derive the generic form of the quasiquark dispersion laws and the gap equation. We...
